Black Friday 12 Hour Run for Youth

This November 27, instead of shopping or nursing your turkey hangover, get out and run with Charlotte Running Club and Black Men Run! Over the course of 12 hours, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., we will be raising money for Let Me Run and Girls On The Run. Both of these tremendous youth organizations teach character lessons and healthy lifestyles through running.

The event is free and runners can come and go as they please. There will be a 4-mile mapped course which may be run as often as you want. Run solo or as a team and see how many miles you can put together. Ask your friends, family and neighbors to sponsor you and help you raise money for these great causes. We will be giving awards for top mileage for individuals and teams.

We realize that many of you are traveling for the Thanksgiving holiday, and you don’t have to be present to participate. Run “virtually,” wherever you are, and challenge yourself to see how many miles and how much money you can raise.

Our mission: Building a Strong and Healthy Community Through Running

The Charlotte Running Club consists of passionate runners that strive to spread the love of running and to help each other grow. The Club's goal is to bring the expansive, diverse, and exciting Charlotte running community together under one umbrella through motivation, group runs, and social events.

Our club represents an incredibly diverse population, from lifelong competitive runners to couch-to-5k-ers and everyone in between. We all found running for different reasons and at different times in our lives, but we all now share a collective interest in making Charlotte a better place to run. Over the coming months and years, CRC is committed to helping to drive that transformation by connecting our members to:

  • Running Opportunities. From fun runs to workouts to races, we help connect runners to events and activities for runners of all ages and abilities.
  • Social Opportunities. You can't run all the time, so we provide fun and engaging opportunities for runners to socialize away from roads, tracks, and trails.
  • Community Involvement. Whether we're volunteering at a local park, coaching and mentoring with community running organizations, or advocating for runner safety, we strive to help make Charlotte a better place to run.
